Olive at the Vet

One of my family's three dogs is a one and one half year old German short haired pointer named Olive. Olive is a very sweet girl, but she is also extremely energetic and enthusiastic. To go along with this, she gets nervous and cries constantly when we go to the vet. Recently Olive got a cut on her foot while bird hunting and she had to get stitches. Everything went smoothly, but after she got her stitches out her foot became itchy and she would reach around with her cone on and try to lick the scabs. While doing this Olive managed to dig a gash into her foot in a completely new spot. Of course this cut then got infected and we had to take her to the vet. When we were at the vet Olive cried in the waiting room, and when we got into our room she climbed into my lap and stayed there for a good twenty minutes. For most 40 pound dogs this would be a difficult feat, but Olive has the skill to make room for herself wherever, even if you think she won't fit. Olive is now in the process of healing, but she sits on peoples laps anytime during the day, because she is that sweet and lovable, like a very muscular teddy bear. The picture below and to the side are of her sleeping and  of her cone/bandage/sock rig so she doesn't lick her newly healing cone gash. She is also on tranquilizers since normally she is very crazy and the vet ordered her not to run around and play.
